The blueMarine blog
The user's forum is working again
12-Jan-2010 17:59 -About three months ago the blueMarine user's forum was vandalized by a spamming bot, that also caused service quality problems to the whole server, forcing us to shut the service down.
Now we have just finished to clean up the forum, removing all the spam; we configured security and moved it to a server that can be accessed with an encrypted connection. Everything should have been recovered as it was the day of the shut down. A minor cosmetic change is the consolidation with other forums related to two applications produced by Tidalwave (they will be accessible from the same page): this makes it possible for us to spend a minor effort with maintaining them. In any case, the forums for blueMarine are visually grouped together and the new layout should not be a problem.
Unfortunately, we had to disable the capability of posting by anonymous users, as it couldn't be secured and would pose too high a risk to the whole service; thus, to post to the forums you will have to create an account and log in. Of course, it is still possible to read the forums anonymously.
In the next days you could still find transitory errors while browsing the forum, due to the optimization of the underlying database that is still in progress. We hope to fix this issue as soon as possible.
In case of problems, please contact us at bluemarine AT tidalwave DOT it.
Thanks.
